**Udupi is temple town of Karnataka located 60 km north of Mangaluru and is famous for two tiny beaches, Malpe Beach and Kaup Beach.

**The Mookambika Devi Temple at Kollur, Udupi District in the state of Karnataka, India, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Mookambika Devi. Historically, the temple is at least 1200 years old and it was mentioned in conjunction with the king Halugallu Veera Sangayya who installed an idol there.

Across the Malpe bay there is a secluded island named St. Marys which can be accessed by a 30 minutes boat ride from Malpe Beach.

**St. Marys Island is really a wonderful tiny piece of land in the middle of the sea sprinkled with black rocks both in the sea and sand. The crystal like columns of brown colored volcanic rocks in the middle of the island  will really astonish you for its mosaic texture. 

**Kaup is another rocky beach which can be visited for its picturesque scenery and beach activities. In the evening People come here to enjoy the beauty of the setting sun and to shoot cool sea breeze. Kaup beach also famous for its ancient light house.The kapu light house was built in 1901 and has for these many years stood on the rocks guiding thousands of sailors and warning the presence of dangerous rocks.It stands 27.12 m above the base.The lighthouse is open for visitors between 4PM to 6PM and the panoramic view offered is magnificent
